In a proactive step towards realizing the vision of “Viksit Bharat@2047,” the Faculty of Agriculture at SKUAST-Jammu orchestrated a dynamic program following the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s launch of “Ideas For the Vision- Viksit Bharat@2047- Voice of Youth” on December 11, 2023. The initiative, guided by Prof. B.N. Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, unfolded with enthusiasm and participation from UG and PG students.
Prof. Anil Kumar, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, emphasized the pivotal role of Agriculture and Rural Development in the envisioned Viksit Bharat@2047. He acknowledged significant strides, particularly in the agricultural sector, aligning with the four-year progress in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Guest, Ms. Kusum Tickoo from Vishesh Productions Jammu, shared insights into the challenges and opportunities ahead, underscoring the importance of art and culture in the nation’s growth.
Students actively engaged in thematic areas such as Empowered Indians, Thriving and Sustainable Economy, Innovation Science & Technology, and Good Governance & Security. Ms. Kusum Tickoo lauded the students’ contributions, emphasizing their role in realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047.
Panel discussions and presentations explored the students’ perspectives on shaping Viksit Bharat by 2047 and their individual contributions. Dr. Anil Bhat, the program coordinator, encouraged students to share their ideas on the myGov.in portal, fostering a collective dialogue on the nation’s future.
The program recognized outstanding presentations, with Mr. Pratyush, Ms. Apoorva, and Mr. Tashfeen Ajmal securing the first, second, and third prizes, respectively. Participants received appreciation certificates for their active involvement. The event also saw the presence of Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Mr. Ajay Thakur, Ms. Ashu, Ms. Magan, and Ms. Shikha.
Dr. Anil Bhat expressed gratitude, and Dr. Susheel Sharma conducted the proceedings. The event not only celebrated the vision for a developed India but also ignited the spirit of youth to actively contribute towards Viksit Bharat@2047.
