Yasha Mudgal Reviews Progress on Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls in Ramban

BuzzBytes Ramban 21/12/23:
Commissioner Secretary of Cooperatives, ARI & Trainings Departments, Yasha Mudgal, who also serves as the Electoral Roll Observer, conducted her second visit to Ramban to assess the progress made under the Special Summary Revision-2024 of Electoral Rolls in the district.
During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing works related to the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls in the district.
Commending the District Administration team, including Election Officers and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Mudgal praised their efforts in surpassing targets under SSR-2024. She particularly lauded the BLOs for registering an additional 6500 female voters, surpassing the set target and contributing to an improved gender ratio.
Yasha Mudgal reviewed the progress achieved in the district under SSR-2023 and sought details about the influx of fresh applications, claims, and objections. She emphasized the need for ensuring a thorough and transparent electoral process.
Addressing the directives from the previous meeting, Commissioner Secretary stressed the urgency for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to promptly dispose of claims and objections in accordance with Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, expediting the process to meet set targets.
Highlighting the importance of voter awareness, Mudgal called for the intensification of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities. She particularly encouraged motivating first-time voters to actively engage in the electoral process, emphasizing their role in shaping the nation’s development and prosperity.
Commissioner Secretary directed the EROs and AEROs to complete the special summary revision with 100 percent enrollment, including the addition of new voters and deletion of duplicates, within the extended deadline. She underscored the necessity of successful SVEEP programs in the two Assembly segments of Ramban to enhance voting percentages in the upcoming General Parliamentary elections.
Yasha Mudgal also urged all stakeholders to intensify SVEEP activities, emphasizing the importance of every vote and exercising the right to franchise in a democracy.
