Srinagar, dec11, Buzzbytes:In a verdict rendered today, the Supreme Court deemed the Union government’s actions regarding Article 370 as non-malafide. Peoples Conference Chief Sajad Lone voices disappointment.The Supreme Court, in its recent judgment, addressed the revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Peoples Conference Chief Sajad Lone, expressing dissatisfaction, stated that the Court deemed the Union government’s move as non-malafide.

The Court also issued a directive to the Election Commission, mandating the conduct of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections by September 30, 2024. Acknowledging the Centre’s commitment to restoring the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir, the Supreme Court emphasized the prompt reinstatement of statehood.

The historic decision on August 5, 2019, saw the central government revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and reorganizing the region into two union territories. Today’s Supreme Court verdict adds a significant chapter to the ongoing narrative surrounding the region’s political landscape.
