Mr. Rahul Sharma, IAS, the Transport Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, actively engaged in the transformative journey of Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) at Dharam in Ramban District. Encouraging widespread public participation in the developmental landscape, the Yatra, spanning across 116 panchayats in the district, marked a significant milestone under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary.
The IEC van, adorned with messages of progress, received a warm reception, setting the tone for a day replete with information, interaction, and inspiration. The program commenced with a compelling video message from the Prime Minister, urging all attendees to pledge towards building a self-reliant India by 2047.
Mr. Rahul Sharma, accompanied by senior officers, diligently inspected stalls showcasing initiatives from various departments, underscoring the diverse efforts aimed at improving lives. Expressing gratitude for the enthusiastic local participation, he reiterated the Prime Minister’s vision and stressed the need for active public engagement, encouraging the dissemination of the Yatra’s transformative message.
The Commissioner underscored the importance of job-oriented schemes, calling upon the youth to not just seek jobs but to become job providers. Emphasizing the pivotal role of quality education in opening up diverse career options, he provided valuable insights. Addressing the issue of drug abuse, he encouraged youth to actively participate in sports for a healthy mind and body.
The event was adorned with vibrant cultural performances by local students, and sports personalities at national and state levels were honored, adding a dynamic flair to the occasion. The Social Welfare Department distributed blankets, and health-related schemes took the spotlight. A health camp organized under BMO Gool offered screenings and counseling, accompanied by the distribution of free medicines.
Local leaders, including Chairperson BDC Dharam, Javeed Ahmed Manhas, and Sarpanch Muneera Begum, actively participated in the event. SDM Gool, Tanveer-Ul-Majid, CMO, ACD Ashok Katoch, Dr. Kamal Zadu, ARTO Saminder Singh, BDO Gundi-Dharam, Tanzeel Runyal, and other officers graced the occasion with their presence. The Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra continues to be a potent catalyst for positive change, fostering awareness and active community engagement in the developmental narrative.
