Pattan: In a significant initiative directed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the Force Headquarters of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the 02 Battalion SSB in Pattan organized Vocational Training Programs aimed at skill development and community welfare.

Under the guidance of Asheesh Naithani, Commandant, 02 Bn. SSB, a Computer/Laptop Repairing Course for 30 students and a Basic Computer Course for 40 students were conducted from October to December 2023. These courses, held at Copier Solutions and S-Tech IT Solutions in Pattan, were part of the force’s commitment to “Service, Security, and Brotherhood.”
The Closing Ceremony of the courses saw the presence of honorable Chief Guest Sh. Imtiaz Ismail Parray, IPS, DIG, SHQ(Spl-Ops) SSB Srinagar, along with other dignitaries, media personnel, instructors, and the participating youths. Sh. Imtiaz Ismail Parray addressed the students, expressing gratitude to the parents for entrusting their wards to the force for training. He emphasized that these programs not only impart technical knowledge but also instill a spirit of entrepreneurship and self-reliance among the youth.
“The aim is to create capable and self-sufficient individuals who can positively contribute to their families and communities,” stated Imtiaz Ismail Parray. He underscored the significance of such initiatives for skill development, emphasizing their role in hindering socio-economic progress.
In addition to the vocational training, a Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Awareness Rally and a lecture on “demerits of the use of drugs” were organized. Dr. Sudharshan Reddy, PR, Assistant Commandant (Medical Officer) of 02 Bn SSB Pattan, delivered the lecture, highlighting the adverse effects of substance abuse.
Furthermore, a Medical Civic Action Programme was conducted for the locals after the Closing Ceremony. Sh. Imtiaz Ismail Parray appreciated these efforts, noting their positive impact on community well-being and healthcare in the region. Such initiatives not only enhance the quality of life but also strengthen the bond between security forces and civilians, contributing to the overall development of the community.
