Kupwara on January 12, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, the District Development Commissioner, led a meeting of the Mining Plan Approval Committee, emphasizing the need for scientific approaches to mining practices.The committee extensively discussed mining methodologies and protocols, with the District Development Commissioner instructing officials from Geology and Mining, along with other relevant departments, to conduct on-site inspections for verification before resizing/reducing the area of Minor Mineral Block No. 2 (Shedipora – Rukhmachwari Bakhihakar to Kachwara Talri- Nallah).Ms. Ayushi Sudan directed the Geology and Mining department to collaborate with all line departments involved. Emphasizing environmental conservation, she ensured that mineral extraction adheres to established guidelines, urging strict actions, including FIRs against habitual offenders.The meeting was attended by Joint Director, Geology and Mining, Kashmir, Khawaja Nisar, EXen Irrigation & Flood Control, Kupwara, EXen, I & FC Handwara, and other pertinent officers and officials.
