Anantnag; January 12, 2024Anantnag Police acted on credible information, revealing a family involved in a meticulously planned criminal conspiracy. Mohd Ramzan Ganai, Gh Rasool Ganie’s son, Mohd Ramzan Ganie’s wife Shahzada Akhter, and their son Zubair Ramzan Ganai, residing in Seer Hamdan Mattan, were found engaging in the illicit trade of alcohol and cannabis charas powder.Reliable sources disclosed that the trio concealed substantial amounts of these illegal substances in their residence, Swift Dzire Car, Baleno car, and Motorcycle. Consequently, Case FIR No. 04/2024 was registered at Police Station Mattan under U/S 8/20,29 NDPS act and 48,50 Excise Act.A search team, comprised of Anantnag Police and the concerned Executive Magistrate, executed a thorough search of the premises. The operation resulted in the recovery of approximately 9.27 Kgs of Charas powder and 867 bottles of illicit alcohol, promptly seized on-site. The trio—Mohd Ramzan Ganai, Shahzada Akhter, and Zubair Ramzan Ganai—were apprehended, and assets including the Swift Dzire, Baleno car, KTM Motorcycle, and Rs. 13,325 in cash were confiscated.Ongoing investigations are being conducted to unearth further details in this case.
