In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the District Election Officer (DEO) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, initiated a significant initiative today by flagging-off a Mobile Demonstration Van from the Mini-Secretariat.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Viqar Ahmed Giri, Dy. District Election Officer Bilal Kamgaar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, and SDM Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan, Dr. Bhat marked the beginning of the campaign designed to raise awareness about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs). The mobile van will be active until February 29, 2024, simultaneously covering three Assembly segments: 38-D.H.Pora, 39-Kulgam, and 40-Devsar.
The primary objective of this program is to educate the general public on the proper usage of EVMs and VVPATs, ensuring that voters encounter no difficulties while exercising their franchise. The Demonstration Van is set to traverse all areas of the district, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the electoral process among citizens.
This proactive step by DEO Kulgam underscores the commitment to a transparent and informed democratic process, laying the foundation for a smooth and participative Lok Sabha election in the district.
