Shopian, November 20 — The Department of Social Welfare in Shopian conducted a one-day awareness cum assessment camp at the Govt. High School in Chitragam, aiming to foster inclusivity and ensure a dignified life for senior citizens in the region.
During the event, senior citizens were enlightened about the various schemes offered by the Department. They were also provided information about the amenities and services available at the Old Age Home situated in Alyalpora Shopian.
The camp facilitated the assessment of senior citizens’ requirements for various prosthetic aids, such as walking sticks, footrests, knee belts, and more, to enhance their mobility and ensure greater convenience in their daily activities.
A substantial number of senior citizens participated in the camp, registering themselves for the opportunity to avail a range of aids provided by the Department, showcasing the eagerness and interest among the elderly in accessing these beneficial resources.
