BuzzBytes Gujarat, December 18: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism has added another feather to its cap by receiving the “Award of Excellence” at the 15th Annual Convention of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI). The prestigious event took place at the Statue of Unity, Ektanagar, Gujarat, from December 16th to 18th, 2023.
The convention saw the participation of notable figures, including the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, the Tourism Minister of Gujarat, the Deputy Chief of Army Staff, and leaders from the tourism and glamour world. Representatives from Tourism Departments and boards of more than fifteen states/UTs also attended.
J&K Tourism, under the visionary leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has emerged as a leading brand in Leisure, Heritage, Adventure, Pilgrimage, and MICE tourism. The Union Territory has recently hosted the G20 (Tourism) Working Group 2023, further elevating its recognition on the global stage.
Secretary Tourism J&K, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, expressed gratitude for the award, emphasizing that it acknowledges the collective success of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism and its stakeholders. He highlighted the UT’s potential to become a global adventure tourism hub and pledged to work towards achieving the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “Viksit Bharat @ 2047.”
The J&K tourism team, led by Special Secretary Tourism Amarjeet Singh, showcased the UT’s natural beauty and diversity during the convention. The team engaged with Adventure Tour Operators and the media, emphasizing the potential of adventure tourism and its role in substantial employment creation.
In summary, the “Award of Excellence” serves as a testament to the success of J&K Tourism and its ongoing efforts to position the Union Territory as a premier destination for adventurous travelers.
