Ajeet Bhagat, a senior leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, criticized the Saffron Development Department and Agriculture Department in Kishtwar for their failure in addressing the needs of farmers. Despite the Central Government approving crores of rupees for the National Saffron Mission (NSM), Bhagat pointed out that not a single penny has been spent by these departments in Kishtwar District.
Expressing his concern, Bhagat emphasized that the execution of the plan seems to be left to chance, questioning the inaction of the Saffron Development and Agriculture Departments in introducing modernized techniques or medicines for the crops. He argued that the assurances given to implement programs and schemes provided by the Central Government exist only on paper.
The National Conference leader highlighted the lack of action by the concerned departments in Kishtwar District to uplift the condition of farmers, underscoring the disconnect between promises and tangible improvements on the ground.
