Srinagar, Aug 06 (BuzzBytes): Prime Minister Narendra Modi held detailed telephone talks with his Israeli counterpart Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which the present situation in West Asia, regional security and the growing bilateral relationship between India and Israel were discussed.
According to the monitoring desk, the two leaders reviewed the continuing progress made in various sectors under the India-Israel special strategic partnership. They expressed satisfaction that cooperation between the two countries has strengthened significantly over the past years in numerous fields, including defence, agriculture, advanced technology, cyber security, innovation, water resources, health, trade, investment and people-to-people contacts.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated their commitment that both countries would continue close cooperation to further consolidate their strategic partnership so that the people of both countries derive maximum benefit from it.
Recent developments in West Asia also came up for particular discussion during the telephonic contact. The two leaders exchanged their respective viewpoints on the changing situation in the region and stressed the importance of peace, stability and mutual contacts.
According to sources, the two leaders also agreed that in view of the present regional and global circumstances, it is necessary to maintain continuous high-level contact between the two countries so that consultation and cooperation on matters of mutual interest can be further promoted.
It may be noted that relations between India and Israel have become markedly stronger over the last few years, and both countries continue close cooperation in various sectors including defence, counter-terrorism, agricultural technology, effective use of water resources, scientific research, trade and advanced technology.
