On the second day of the Poonch encounter in Surankote, tragic news unfolds as five soldiers lost their lives, while two others sustained injuries during the ongoing operation, according to top officials.
Officials, briefing the media via Kashmir Scroll news agency, reported that five soldiers were martyred in the line of duty, and two injured soldiers are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.The entire area remains under a cordon, with an intense search operation in progress to address the situation.
The brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice were identified as Birendra Singh, Karan Kumar, Chandan Kumar, and Gautam Kumar. The injured soldiers receiving medical attention were identified as Sundeep Kumar, Shyam Sundar Das, and Todmal Dnyaneshwar Bhaskarrav.
Earlier reports indicated that an army party came under attack during an anti-terror operation in the Surankote area at DKG (Dera Ki Gali) on Thursday. The officials stated that the encounter is still underway at the site with the objective of neutralizing the terrorists responsible for the attack.
As the nation mourns the loss of these brave soldiers, the encounter highlights the continued challenges faced by security forces in maintaining peace and combating terrorism in the region.
