1st National Lok Adalat Conducted at District Court Complex Shopian

BuzzBytes Shopion 09 March:In a significant legal event, the 1st National Lok Adalat was successfully conducted at the District Court Complex in Shopian. The event was chaired by Riaz-Ul-Haq Mirza, who serves as the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Session Judge) in Shopian.For the National Lok Adalat, three benches were constituted by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), ensuring an organized and efficient process for addressing legal matters. The event witnessed active participation from various stakeholders, including advocates, litigants, and prominent citizens.A total of 222 cases were taken up during the National Lok Adalat, covering a diverse range of legal issues such as recovery suits, traffic challans, civil cases, Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT) cases, matrimonial cases, criminal compoundable cases, and other civil matters. Remarkably, 83 cases were successfully settled amicably during the National Lok Adalat, leading to the resolution of legal disputes. The settlement amount for these cases amounted to Rs. 73,69,418.The National Lok Adalat serves as a crucial platform for alternative dispute resolution, promoting amicable settlements and reducing the burden on traditional legal processes. The success of this event in Shopian reflects the commitment to providing accessible and efficient justice to the people.
