Baramulla, Buzzbytes Dec21:
Dr. Kousar Bakshi, a distinguished doctor hailing from the Singhpora region of Baramulla, has etched his name in history by securing a piece of lunar land, marking a monumental achievement for the Kashmir Valley. Following the Lunar Registry’s official confirmation, Dr. Bakshi now holds ownership of a plot situated in the Mare Tranquillitatis (Sea of Tranquillity) region of the Moon, with precise coordinates of 8.35 degrees North Latitude and 30.85 degrees East Longitude, Tract 34, Parcel 21024.

The groundbreaking accomplishment materialized after Dr. Bakshi successfully bid for the lunar property on July 6, 2023. A communication from the Lunar Registry dated September 12, 2023, validated his acquisition, propelling him into a select league of lunar landowners.
Reflecting on his unprecedented success, Dr. Bakshi, who also serves as the CEO of ARML Labs in Handwara, expressed profound joy and pride. “Becoming the first individual from the Valley to achieve this milestone fills me with immense happiness,” he remarked. He further dedicated this monumental feat to his late father, conveying heartfelt gratitude and love.
This significant acquisition positions Dr. Bakshi as the first individual from the Kashmir Valley and the second from Jammu and Kashmir to possess lunar real estate. Rupesh Masson, a 49-year-old entrepreneur from Jammu, previously attained this distinction by acquiring land in the “Lacus Felicitatis (Lake of Happiness)” region on the Moon, Tract 55-Parcel 10772.
The acquisition by Dr. Bakshi not only symbolizes personal achievement but also underscores the limitless aspirations and capabilities of individuals from the region, transcending earthly boundaries and marking a new chapter in the annals of Jammu and Kashmir’s history.
