Secretary Health Visits GMC Anantnag, Emphasizes High Standards in Healthcare Services

Danish Mirza Anantnag, Feb 26: Secretary of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, conducted a thorough visit to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, and Rehmat Aalam Hospital, MCH, to assess healthcare services and infrastructure. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner S F Hamid and Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, the Secretary interacted with patients and their attendants to gather feedback on medical services.Dr. Abid Rasheed engaged with doctors and staff, urging them to uphold the highest standards in medical facilities and provide effective healthcare services to the community. He emphasized the commitment of medical professionals to enhancing the quality of services and conducting thorough rounds for efficient patient management.During the visit, the Secretary assessed healthcare infrastructure, patient care, medical equipment, and overall operational efficiency at GMC Anantnag. He toured patient wards, emergency facilities, MRI lab, radiation oncology lab, and other related infrastructure.In a meeting with the administration of GMC and Associated Hospitals, the Secretary reviewed the progress of major development projects. He called for cohesion and teamwork among all agencies and medical professionals to ensure improved medical care facilities for the public.Addressing the officers, Dr. Abid urged them to work with zeal, maintaining punctuality and a sincere work culture. He emphasized the need for GMC Anantnag to emerge as the best-performing health institution in Jammu & Kashmir. The Secretary also encouraged the focus on innovative research within the institute.
